Chelsea have offered the chance to cash in on their Premier League rivals’ summer transfer
Brighton & Hove Albion have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabio, a report has revealed.
Chelsea signed Tosina on a free transfer transfer during the summer when he was out of contract at Fulham, but the 27-year-old has failed to hold down a place in Enzo Maresca’s starting line-up and has fallen below academy graduate Josh Acheampong in the pecking order in recent weeks.
After starting just seven times in the Premier League this season, Tošin was approached by Brighton, with Post stating that there is significant interest in prying the centre-back away from Stamford Bridge this month.
Just whether Chelsea will have fun going to Tošin remains to be seen. Most of his starts have come due to injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, but despite the French pair’s fitness issues, Chelsea are still well equipped at the back.
Levi Colwill is a regular starter and has been joined in the heart of defense by 18-year-old Acheampong in recent weeks. Tosin worked as cover alongside Axel Disasi, while Trevoh Chalobah and Aaron Anselmino were also recalled from loan with Crystal Palace and Boca Juniors.
As for the group, reports suggest Chelsea are keen to part ways with Disasi, but the Blues could be tempted to cash in immediately on Tosin, who was signed for nothing just seven months ago.
