Marcus Rashford’s agents are in key talks with Man Utd as Barcelona ramp up transfer plans
Marcus Rashford’s representatives held a meeting with Manchester United on Wednesday to assess everything transfer options available to him, the report claims.
Rashford is free to leave United this month as the Red Devils look to save money. A permanent transfer worth £40m is thought to be their preferred move, but the striker’s huge wages have led to everyone involved agreeing that a loan move in January is much more likely.
Clubs across Europe have expressed an interest in Rashford over the past few weeks and, according to SPORTthe 27-year-old’s agents used all these possibilities United for a key meeting on Wednesday.
AC Milan made the most concrete proposal, while Monaco and Borussia Dortmund are also interested. BarcelonaRashford’s favorite destination, are also considering a move.
There has even been interest from the Premier League, where Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have been linked, but United are believed to refuse to sign a direct rival and instead look to send Rashford abroad.
Barcelona are hoping to win the race for Rashford’s signature and are struggling to convince the Englishman to delay a decision on his future as they need to sell players to free up wage space to add Rashford to their squad.
Interestingly, that financial relief could be provided by United, who reached out to Barcelona to discuss a move for central defender Andreas Christensen.
Rashford is expected to leave United on an outright loan without a mandatory buyout clause, with the Red Devils hoping he can increase his transfer value over the next six months and spark a race for his signature in the summer.
