Impeached South Korean president detained after state of emergency

Yoon Suk Yeol, the impeached president of South Korea, was detained on Wednesday, a day after a hearing for his removal from office was held. He was taken from his official residence in a convoy of police vehicles. He was recalled last month after briefly declaring a state of emergency.
