Two American hostages are on the list for release under the Gaza deal, a source told Reuters

(Reuters) – Two Americans held in Gaza are on a list of hostages to be freed in the first phase of a six-week ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas announced on Wednesday, a source familiar with the matter said.

The two are Keith Siegel and Sagui Dekel-Chen, the source said on condition of anonymity.

Their inclusion on the list was first reported by CNN.

They were among more than 250 hostages taken to Gaza by Hamas militants, according to Israeli figures, in the Oct. 7, 2023 attack on Israel that launched its offensive on the enclave.

Siegel was kidnapped with his wife Adrienne. She was among the group of hostages released by the November 2023 ceasefire agreement.
