Arsenal are also mulling a January move for a £25m alternative to Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are laying the groundwork to bring in a new centre-forward following Gabriel Jesus’ season-ending injury and are eyeing a new transfer target as a potential alternative to the Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.
Arsenal are making January moves for Dušan Vlahović
Vlahović is a very well-known name Mikel Artetaas the Gunners once tried to beat Juve to his signature in 2022.

Arsenal were very interested in the Serbian in January of that year, during his days with Fiorentina (Sky Sports), but the Old Lady eventually managed to persuade Vlahović to exchange the Artemio Franchi Stadium for Torino.

Juve signed a £67m deal for Vlahovicbut reports now suggest he could potentially join Arsenal exactly two years after the Gunners failed in their pursuit of the 24-year-old.
There are suggestions that Vlahovic is Arsenal’s main attacking target in Januaryand Arteta’s side allegedly already saw that the loan offer was rejected (Football transfers).
If this is indeed the case, it seems that they will not stop in their pursuit of the centre-forward just yet, as multiple media sources are reporting that Arsenal’s pursuit of Vlahovic remains very much alive.
CaughtOffside echoes that, although they also report that Arsenal have a smart alternative in mind if they can’t get a deal done for the 12-goal hitman in all competitions this season.
Arsenal are weighing a January move for Marseille striker Elye Wahi
According to their sources, Marseille striker Elye Wahi is on their list of potential options for centre-forward. The 22-year-old scored 19 French Ligue 1 goals for former club Lens in the 2022/23 season and his form was eventually enough to seal a move to Marseille last summer.
Wahi’s has scored just three goals in all competitions since joining Roberto De Zerbi’s side, so he hasn’t exactly enjoyed the best of starts to his career at Marseille, and now it’s believed Arsenal could offer him a move away from Ligue 1.
CaughtOffside write that Arsenal are weighing a January move for Wahiwho is seen as a second option if they fail to land Vlahovic, with other reports claiming the Frenchman is valued at approx 25 million pounds – potentially making him a more viable mid-season transfer from the club’s perspective.
In addition, West Ham are also in dire need of a striker, and have made Wahi a target themselves.
Wahi, called “a real beast” because of his previous appearance by the press, he cannot be dismissed as a good choice for Jesus.
