Message from Amazon | Climate
Earthrise meets the Ashanin women who are mobilizing global action for the planet from their ancestral lands in the Amazon.
The evidence is clear: human activity is destroying our planet. Although we know the causes and solutions for the climate and natural crisis, action is still insufficient. If knowledge alone is not enough to initiate change, what will?
elevation of the earth explores new movements that challenge humanity to rethink its place on Earth, based on the belief that we are part of nature, not separate from it.
The series begins in the Brazilian Amazon, where the Ashanin women of Apiwtxa celebrate the 1992 delimitation of their ancestral land. For decades, they fiercely protected the rainforest, guided by a deep spiritual connection with nature. During his time with this powerful indigenous community, earthritis presenter, Amanda Burrell, joins an ayahuasca ceremony and visits the Yorenka Tasorentsi Institute, where founder Benki Piyako is reforesting former pastures by planting millions of trees. His mission: To inspire people everywhere to live in harmony with nature.
