David Warner, Kane Williamson among the big names selected in the draft; complete detachments discovered
The PSL 2025 draft took place on Monday (January 13) and saw some of the biggest names in the game selected. A total of 116 players from 10 countries were selected by six Pakistan Super League franchises at Huzoori Bagh in Lahore Fort.
The tenth edition of the league, PSL 2025, is all set to be played between April 8 and May 19. The tournament will feature players David Warner, Kane Williamson, Alzarri Joseph and Daryl Mitchell making their league debuts after being selected by the franchises in Monday’s league draft.
Daryl Mitchell and David Warner pick Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings in PSL 2025.
Daryl Mitchell was first choice as he was brought in by Lahore Qalandars is ready to feature for the team later this year. His all-round ability will make him a great asset to the team in the tournament as they look to win the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Former Australian cricketer David Warner will play for Karachi Kings. The franchise used the second pick in the first platinum round and threw in the dough. With a wealth of experience behind him, 12,727 T20 runs in 392 T20 matches, he could be a game-changer for the franchise in PSL 2025.
Kane Williamson remains unsold in the Platinum category, being picked by Karachi Kings in the PSL 2025 play-off.
In the biggest shock, Kane Williamson first remained unsold in the Platinum category. However, he was later picked by the Karachi Kings in the extra game. He too will be keen to make his mark in the league and is expected to make his PSL debut in 2025.
Peshawar Zalmi selected West Indies national cricket team player Alzarri Joseph. Namely, all these players remained unsold at the IPL auction. They will have an excellent platform to prove their mettle in PSL 2025.
