WPL 2025 to be held at 4 venues as BCCI takes historic decision
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plans to expand the Women’s Premier League (WPL). According to reports in Times of India, it is learned that the governing body wants to organize the next edition of the tournament at four venues in India.
The 2025 edition of the tournament is all set to be played in Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Vadodara. Reports further add that the third edition of the tournament is all set to begin in Mumbai and the final will be held at the brand new Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

A source close to the development confirmed that the league will be played at four venues in Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Vadodara. Speaking to Times of India, he confirmed that the tournament will be played in four phases.
“WPL-3 is likely to be held at four venues – Mumbai, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Vadodara – each of which will stage the tournament in four stages. The event is likely to start in Mumbai, with the brand new Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara hosting the final.”

If reports are to be believed, it will be a big step forward for women’s cricket in India. The BCCI has put a lot of work into the development of women’s cricket over the past few years and it has paid off.
The first edition of the Women’s Premier League was played in Mumbai. However, the BCCI then took a step forward and hosted the next edition at two venues in Delhi and Bengaluru. However, that number will now increase, with four stadiums across the country set to host the Women’s Premier League.

Although there is no official confirmation, there have been several reports claiming that WPL 2025 will start on February 6 or 7. BCCI has reportedly held informal talks with Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) ) and an official announcement will be made soon.
The finals of the tournament will probably be played around March 8 and 9. In the league, 23 games will be played on 4 pitches, and this will be a great boost for the teams as well as for the players. By organizing the tournament at multiple venues, the BCCI aims to spread the game across the country.
The WPL 2025 auction was held recently, and all the franchises strengthened their squad. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending champions of the tournament after defeating Delhi Capitals in the final to win, bringing home the first title for the franchise in the history of franchise cricket. They would like to continue the momentum from last year and win another title.
