Devin Haney confirmed talks with Turki Al-Shiekh about a potential fight

Devin Haney revealed today that the reason he traveled to London for the deal was to meet with Turki Al-Shiekh to “discuss the following.”

Fans questioned why Haney, 26, would be training in the ring in London when he has no fights scheduled and is coming off a humiliating loss to Ryan Garcia. It didn’t make sense until now. Devin came to meet Turki, hoping to fight on one of his cards, and probably for big money.

Turkish conversations

The recently defeated Haney (31-0, 15 KO) is looking to fight on one of Turki’s cards of the season in Riyadh. However, Al-Shiekh tends to take competitive fights for his career, and that could be bad for Haney as he has been shown to be weak in the chin area.

If Haney gets knocked out by whoever Turki picks instead, it will take a lot of interest out of the rematch with Ryan Garcia. A fight could still happen, but it would be considered a joke. Haney would be ready for a dump, which was considered a publicity job, which was never as good as gullible fans thought.

His best wins were against George Kambosos, Regis Prograis and Vasili Lomachenko. As most know, Haney’s win over Lomachenko was highly controversial in a fight he appeared to lose, but won a 12-round decision in Las Vegas. Kambosos was just a flawed, low-ranking, one-hit-wonderone-hit who built his career beating a confused, ring-rusty, injured Teofimo Lopez.

Chasing The Payday

“I want to fight with everyone. You all know I’m not one for fights. I want to make the biggest fights. I want to fight the best fighter in the world. That’s one of the reasons I’m here. I’m here to meet with His Excellency Turki Al-Shiekh to discuss what’s next,” Devin Haney said. to the media today at his London training session, explaining why he traveled to the UK to show off.

“Turki made an offer to Teo for much more money than his offer was. He rejected it for whatever reason, and that’s what stopped the fight. It is a fight that can still be fought. One thing I am focused on is that I want to fight on a level playing field with everyone.

“I want to be a spokesperson for pure boxing because I have really experienced it. I’ve experienced being cheated on and what it’s like to fight someone who’s on PEDs,” Haney said of the Ryan Garcia fight. “I want to clean up the sport of boxing. So that’s my focus right now on the man.”
