Colombian pop star Shakira to perform on Monday after being hospitalized with gastric disease


Colombian singer Shakira said on Monday that she would continue her world tour on Monday night and compete in Lima in Peru, after canceling the concert during the weekend due to gastric illness.

The four -time winner of Grammy shared the news on his Instagram account, saying that her concert at Lima’s football stadium Estadio Nacional would start at 8:15 pm local time.

Shakira, 48, arrived in Peru on Friday night, and was supposed to perform on Sunday and Monday. The country is the second stop on its Latin American tour, Las Mujeres, without Lloran, after two nights in Brazil last week.

However, she canceled the first of her two shows on Sunday, informing fans on social networks that she was hospitalized for her abdominal condition.

“I am very sad that I will not be able to get on stage today. I was deeply emotional and excited about the reunification with my beloved Peruvian audience,” she said.

Fans appeared in front of the Lima Hospital on Sunday night to show their support for Latin music superstar. The artist said she was diagnosed with her stomach condition and that she would not be able to perform her two shows scheduled in the city.

Latin fans gave Shakira a warm welcome, and the crowds gathered at the airports to greet her.

“Thanks for such an emotional welcome, sheet metal!” She posted on Instagram on Saturday.

Shakira wrote on the X that her team works on a new date for the show that was canceled on Sunday.
