Lockie Ferguson joins the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 injuries list; New Zealand announces a replacement
New Zealand, led by the versatile Mitchell Santner, suffered another blow to the injury the day before the start of the long -awaited ICC champion Trophy 2025. The conclusion for Farguson’s Fast Bowel was excluded from the whole tournament, and the selectors appointed and replacement on Tuesday, February 18th.
Ferguson will miss the event due to the right foot injury. He felt pain in his foot after bowling while warming up in Karachi on Sunday. Medical estimates confirmed that it would not be suitable for the tournament, and the selectors decided to send Ferguson home to start their rehabilitation.
Kyle Jamieson set up to replace the injured Lockie Ferguson in the New Zealand department
Kyle Jamieson will replace the injured Lockie Ferguson on the New Zealand team for the champion trophy and will immediately travel to Pakistan. Jamieson played 45 internationals for New Zealand, including the award player for the match in the finals of the 2021 ICC World Cup against India.
Has not played in September 2023. After recovering from the injury, Jamieson returned to the home cricket with Canterbury Kings in December and played a key role in their Super Smash campaign. Pacer with his right hand also participated in the recent Ford trophies for Canterbury.

The main coach of Blackcaps Gary Stead is disappointed with the injury of Lockie Ferguson, calling it difficult news for him and for him. Read wished Ferguson a quick recovery and hoped he would be back in shape soon.
