Liverpool women split up with manager Matt Beard after three and a half years in charge.
Beard leaves his second magic in Liverpool – after a successful first stay between 2012 and 2015, where he delivered two women’s superiors – with a club sitting in seventh place in women’s peak.
Beard joined the club in 2021 and scored a promotion at WSL in his first season. His last game was a 4-0 defeat of Man City on February 16th.
“We have all experienced fantastic moments with Matt as the manager of the LFC Women’s Women, we express our gratitude for his significant contribution,” said Liverpool’s statement.
“Our priority was to return this team where it belongs and we collectively achieved this in 2022 by winning the promotion at WSL.
“We have to build on this momentum and even though it was a difficult decision, we believe that it gives us the best opportunity for future success in the field.”
Liverpool announced that Amber Whiteley had entered as a temporary manager with the current effect.
