Ex-Patriots RB: Bill Belichick put me in ‘fat camp’

Bill Belichick always asked a lot of his players while training New English patriotsWhether it’s Super Bowl, a game of regular season or just a training camp.
A former patriot said he witnessed Belichick’s strict training almost immediately after he drew.
“I guess we’ll start the way Bill put me in a fat camp,” former pants running back Stevan Ridley, third round in 2011. NFL draft In New England, he said at the Podcast “Games with Names” with Julian Edelman.

Ridley said Belichick put him in a “fat camp” because he was “overweight” for NFL running backwards From LSU.
So how much weight Belichick wanted Ridley to cut?
“You have that meeting where you go there and you are a newcomer. And he gives you your weight. And brought me to the office because I go into the room [former Patriots strength coach Harold] Nash said, “Jump on the ladder, Ridley,” Ridley Edelman said.
“I jumped on the ladder and about 235, 238 pounds. I played on LSU about 230 as running back. Eight pounds are a lot, brother.”

Ridley said the Patriots obviously knew it was a bigger running, and obviously did something that would be drawn in the third round.
But Ridley claims that Belichick told him he had to reduce the weight of playing at 220 pounds.
“How? I said,” You merge yourself, brother. “I said,” No, “Ridley recalled.”[Nash] said, ‘Don’t ask me. I tell you what the chief man said. “”
Ridley went to Belichick’s office to hear the coach himself.

“I came in and said, ‘Coaches, I have to talk to you about that weight. And he said, “What is the number? I can’t remember what I had.” Two or twenty, that’s impossible.
“I can quickly mathematics. I’m the third round, I don’t have that kind of money. So, a fat camp I left.”
Ridley started working on his weight, and that paid a dividend after crossing Belichick’s preferred weight of 220.
Despite what Ridley initially thought, he succeeded.
“Quickly like a cat, man,” he said, laughing when Edelman asked how he felt. “Freaking Nasty, man. Once I got to that weight, I said, ‘Hey, Bill knows what the hell is he talking about. “

Ridley played four years in Nova England, ran to 2,817 meters, including 1,263 of his campaign for the second in the 2012 season, which included 12 of 22 career accelerations with the Patriots. Ridley was part of the 2014 Patriots team that shockingly beat Seattle Seahawks 2015 Super Bowl Thanks to intercept the goal of Malcolm Butler.
Ridley then played for New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers after his final season in Nova England.
