Hamas will appoint the following Israeli hostage to be released
Hamas is expected to surrender to Israel the names of four hostages, which will be released on Saturday under an agreement on the interruption of fire in Gaza.
It is thought to be soldiers and civilians, all women.
They will be liberated in exchange for 180 Palestinian prisoners who are held in Israel.
It will be the second exchange since the fire interruption came into force last Sunday. In the first exchange, three hostages and 90 prisoners were released.
The ceasefire stopped the war that began when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023. About 1,200 people were killed and 251 was returned hostage to Gaza.
More than 47,200 Palestinians, mostly civilians, were killed in the Israeli offensive, says the Gaza Health Ministry that manages Hamas.
Hamas is also expected to provide information about the remaining 26 hostages that should be released in the next five weeks.
These are the Bibas family – two parents and two children, one of whom, Kfir, had 10 months when he was captured and is the youngest hostage. It is unclear whether this information will include names or just the number of living or dead hattops.
The prisoners to be released are heavier categories than those released in the first exchange. Among them will be those who killed, and some of them serve more than 15 years of punishment.
Israel insisted that no one involved in attacks on October 7th would be free.
An agreement on the termination of fire was reached after months of indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas, led by USA, Qatar and Egypt.
It will be implemented in three phases and the second phase should start six weeks after the certificate. About 1,900 Palestinian prisoners will be released during the first phase in exchange for 33 hostages. Israeli forces will also begin to withdraw from a position in Gaza, and hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians will be able to return to areas from which they escaped or forced from which they were forced.
The interruption of fire should lead to the permanent end of the war in Gaza.
Ninety and one hostage that is abducted on October 7, 2023. It is still held in Gaza. Israel assumes that 57 are still alive. Three others – two of which are alive – in custody are a decade or more.
