Usman Qadir quits Pakistan cricket and intends to become an Australian cricketer
Pakistan national cricket team player Usman Qadir, who recently announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket, is planning to move to Australia. According to Pakistani media reports, it is learned that he has taken a step for a better future.
The son of Pakistan great Abdul Qadir, Usman announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket in October last year out of frustration. This was because he did not get a chance for the Pakistan national cricket team and was also not allowed to play in other leagues.
Usman Qadir represented the Pakistan national cricket team in one ODI and 25 T20Is during his career and announced his retirement in 2024.

Since moving to Australia, Usman has played in South Australia. He also played for the Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League apart from representing the Australian Prime Minister’s XI. According to reports, the main reason behind his move is to play cricket in Australia.
Usman Qadir will soon move his family to Australia. He had earlier planned to return to Pakistan from Australia as per his late father Abdul Qadir’s wish. The footballer settled there and is now in New South Wales, where he plays for the Hawkesbury Club in Sydney.

Usman Qadir while talking about his move to Australia said that cricket is his life and he moved to Australia for his future. He said he wants to continue his father’s legacy and hopes to get good opportunities. he said:
“Cricket is my life, I came to Australia with a plan for my future. I hope and am determined to get good opportunities only in cricket. As I enter this new chapter, I will carry on my father’s legacy, embracing my love for cricket and the lessons he instilled in me,”

Usman Qadir would like to explore more opportunities in Australia and if he gets citizenship there, he is expected to be available for selection for the Australian national cricket team. It remains to be seen what his future holds.
Overall in his career, Qadir played 13 FC matches, taking 31 wickets at an average of around 18. He also played 49 List A matches, taking 48 wickets with three five-wicket hauls. In 107 T20s, he has picked 112 wickets at an economy of around 7.
