On January 12, 2019, residents of Rue de Trévise in Paris’ 9th arrondissement (arrondissement) were awakened by a massive explosion fueled by a gas leak. As emergency services rushed them out of the building, the full horror became apparent: four dead, dozens injured and an entire neighborhood destroyed. Six years later, some former residents can finally return home. But many are still waiting for the completion of the repairs and want an explanation of what caused this tragic accident.
