14-year-old Ira Jadhav smashes an incredible 346*, creates history with a record-breaking performance
14-year-old Ira Jadhav etched her name in the record books after her magnificent effort with the bat in the Women’s U-19 One Day Cup on Sunday (January 12). She became the first Indian cricketer to score a triple century in a limited overs match.
Ira Jadhav achieved the feat while playing for Mumbai in the Women’s U-19 One Day Cup match played against Meghalaya. The match between the two teams took place at the Alur Cricket Ground, and the young batsman made history.

Ira Jadhav, who was named as one of the three reserve players for India in the upcoming U-19 Women’s World Cup, played a mammoth innings of 346 runs off 157 balls. Due to this, her team, Mumbai, posted a huge total on the board and took control of the game.
Ira Jadhav was at her aggressive best as she hit 42 fours and 16 sixes in her innings. The 14-year-old made no mistake in her innings as she added 274 runs for the second wicket with captain Hurley Gala (116) and then put on a 186-run third wicket stand with Diksha Pawar (39). .
Thanks to her magnificent effort with the bat, Mumbai posted a total of 563 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets in 50 overs. Her changes would certainly send a strong message to the selectors and might even force them to add the batsman to the main squad for the upcoming U-19 Women’s World Cup.

Ira Jadhav also became the first Indian cricketer to score a triple century in 50-over cricket. If given a chance in the main squad for the World Cup, she would like to maintain her good form in the tournament and help the team lift the championship.
Her incredible effort with the bat led to even former Indian women’s cricket team captain Diana Edulji praising her for the effort. She told the Times of India: “Hats off to Ira, who is an U-15 player and plays for all age groups. I hope to see her in Indian colours.”

Ira Jadhav recently became the youngest player to register for the WPL 2025 auction. However, she remained unsold, but with her now playing gigantic innings, she would surely be under the radar of some franchises, especially if there were any injuries in camp before or during the tournament.
Excluding her, only four female cricketers have scored a double century at the U19 level. They include the current Indian captain, Smriti Mandhana (224 not out in 2013), Raghvi Bist (219 not out), Jemimah Rodrigues (202 not out) and Sanika Chalke (200).
