Saim Ayub has been EXCLUDED from cricket for a long time

Pakistan cricket team batsman Saim Ayub has been in the news for the past few days and the main reason for that was the injury he sustained during the Test series against the South Africa cricket team. The young batsman suffered an ankle injury, which prevented him from playing the second game.

Saim Ayub injured himself trying to defend the boundary, twisted his ankle and was carried off the field. The opening batsman appeared to be in a lot of pain and then the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent him to London for a detailed medical assessment, especially with the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy around the corner.

Saim Ayub consulted with the renowned expert dr. Jeyaseelan in London was advised by a doctor to take a six-month dough break to allow for a full recovery

Assistant coach Azhar Mahmood traveled with Ayub while they consulted renowned expert Dr. Jeyaseelan. A specialist doctor examined the young batsman and then confirmed that the injury had stabilized. The hitter can cautiously put weight on the injured ankle.

Saim Ayub’s injury is serious and it has been confirmed that the striker has a fracture. But in a positive development, it didn’t do any long-term damage to the dough. dr. Jeyaseelan has advised the batsman to take six months off to allow for a full recovery, according to ARY News.

Saim Ayub will undergo consultation with a panel of experts in London

Ayub will undergo consultations with a panel of experts in London. He will also undertake some additional tests, including x-rays, to finalize his treatment plan. But if the PCB listens to the advice of dr. Jeyaseelan, then the batsman will be ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

However, PCB has not made any official statement so far. While the batsman’s inclusion in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy remains uncertain, the governing body will accept a call for his inclusion in the squad subject to further medicals and assessments.

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi takes personal interest in the injury to “valuable asset” Saim Ayub

PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi took a personal interest in Ayub’s injury. He ensured that the young batsman received proper treatment. He called the batsman a “valuable asset” and stated that he would provide all necessary funds for his rehabilitation.

Saim Ayub’s absence will leave a huge void in Pakistan’s national cricket team as the opening batsman has been in terrific form. He was going through a purple patch with the bat as he recently hit two tons in the ODI series against South Africa.

Ayub then scored 14 runs in the first innings and then went on to score 27 runs in the second innings. But if he fails to play in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 now, it will be a big blow for Pakistan cricket team.
