Donald Trump threatened to impose a 200 -stop retaliation for an EU alcohol imports if the block does not remove his duty on the American whiskey, in his last salvo in his escalation trade war.
By posting on his social platform of truth on Thursday, the US president said the move was an answer to the EU decision to impose a “nasty” tariff of 50 percent on whiskey.
“If this tariff is not removed immediately, now they will soon place a 200% tariff on all wines, champagne and alcoholic products coming from France and other EU countries. This will be great for wine and champagne in the US,” Trump wrote.
