Texas lawyer Ken Paxton is launching an investigation into the city of Dallas because of the city’s sanctuary policies in the region that protect illegal immigrants.
On Thursday, Paxton published an investigation, as well as an official request for the City Police Directorate and Dallas, which refers to the refusal of the Police Directorate to comply with the state and federal law on immigration.

“My office will take all the necessary legal actions to ensure respect for the state law and consider the responsibility of any local subject that defies its legal obligations,” he added.
Paxton’s office has requested all policies, training of materials and communication regarding Dallas’s implementation or non-production of the Immigration Act, including all records that reflect decisions on the refusal of cooperation with federal immigration bodies.

He quoted the provisional chief of Dallas Michael Igo, who said his agency “does not help any federal agency in custody of people who are either documented or unfathomable in the city of Dallas. ”

Paxton said that the main remarks “cause serious concern” that the City and the Police Directorate may violate the law in Texas, which forbids the local entities to adopt the sanctuary policies that limit the implementation of immigration.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, the city of Dallas said: “We are reviewing a letter received from the State Attorney’s Office and we will answer at the appropriate time.”
