French police said at least three people were killed when a tropical storm packaged fierce winds and lush rains on Friday, the French island of the Indian Ocean extinguished. The residents were ordered to stay at home because the tropical cyclone brought heavy rain and winds greater than 200 kilometers per hour (124 mph), causing floods, interruption of electricity and damage to buildings.
