Australian GP: Charles Leclerc Tops Exercise Two because Lewis Hamilton is unable to reconcile the pace of teammates Ferrari | F1 news

The Charles Leclerc top was the second training on the Australian Grand Prix, as Lewis Hamilton failed to reconcile the pace of his teammate at his Ferrari debut.
All the eyes of Hamilton on Friday in Melbourne, while the sevenfold world champion participated in his first weekend sessions for Ferrari after his relocation from the Mercedes blockbuster, the 40-year-old Brit was fifth in training, two earlier finished 12th.
Hamilton was four-tenths of the second, impressive leading time of Leclerca 1: 16,439, which was good enough to surpass McLaren’s Oscar Piastra and Land Norris, which are at the top of the first practice, more than a tens.
The rowing consensus on the eve of the opening circle of the season was that the ruling construction champions McLaren would start a campaign with the fastest car online, but Leclerc’s Shows suggests that Ferrari on Saturday can at least cause a pole to Albert Park.
Times set in practice, of course, are not completely representative, since teams can run their cars with different settings and fuel loads in qualifying, which could explain some surprising place on the time list.
Yuki Tsunoda was fourth ahead of Lewis Hamilton for Racing Bulls, and his Rookie teammate Isack Hadjar finished a strong account of finishing sixth.
They ended up in front of both drivers from the Red Bull senior team, and Max Verstappen seventh as he begins his search for winning the fifth consecutive driver’s title, and the new teammate Liam Lawson only 17.
Verstappen was one of several drivers who struggled with handling their car while teams tried to find balanced settings with their 2025 challengers after only three days of testing in Bahrein last month.
George Russell similarly fought, heading to his Mercedes as he did earlier in the first practice, on his way to finish 10th. His new Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli was 16th.
British novelty Oliver Bearman closely missed the opportunity to participate in the session while Haas ran out of time to fill in the repairs of his car After a large collision in the first practice.
