The Bobby Orr hockey legend came in defense of Wayne Gretzky on Saturday, while “big” spoiled for his performance as honorary captain Team Canada 4 nations of the finals.
IN Most criticism Came through Gretzky’s obvious support for President Donald Trump. Gretzky was seen as a celebration of Florida’s victory when Trump won the 2024 presidential election and was on his inauguration in January. Trump was also teasing Canada, calling Justin Trudeau “Governor” “51 States.” Trump even floated with the idea of Gretzky to become the next Governor of Canada.

Orr wrote in Toronto Sun. That he was filled with “disappointment” as he read criticism against someone he considers one of the “greatest Canadians ever”.
“How can people be, when someone who has given so much time and effort is treated by Canadian hockey in this way,” Orra’s column said. “Listen, we all have our personal beliefs that they relate to things like religion and politics. Wayne respects your right to such beliefs – why can’t you respect his?”

“Please take out the time. Let’s single out some grace and some respect for the good man and the great Canadian.”
