The fighting was allegedly erupted in Nasir in the state of the Nile on February 14 and 15, says the UN mission southern Sudan.

The statement states that some fighters used “heavy weapons that, as reported, resulted in death and civilian injuries, as well as armed staff.”
He did not give any details about the number of injured people, but he added that the UN Peace Man was wounded during the shelling of a mortar.
Nicholas Hays, a special representative of the UN Secretary-General and UNMIS chief, invited the immediate end of violence.
“I urge everyone involved to show restraint and restore peace immediately. I also strongly condemn any violence against our peacekeeping forces and reiterate that such actions are a violation of international law, “Hays said.
