The “Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder says life on the farm gives him a balance he can’t find in Hollywood


The “Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder admits that Living on the Farm is “hard work”, But he wouldn’t have another way.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, co -founder of brother Bond Bourbon explained that there is a certain level of “respect” that comes with a life on a farm that “populated, urban areas” simply do not understand.

“It’s a lot of work, but the reality is like that, especially with these fires that have just happened in California. You know, for me, I grew up. Right here in Louisiani. For me it makes sense of balance.”

“But what people don’t understand is, a huge amount, a rather large percentage of Americans, so they live. They respect and love that way of life. We live here,” he said.

Somerhalder continued, “While … very populated urban areas may not get, they still benefit from this because they benefit from quality products and products that these people produce. So there is an incredible type of trade and business and sorting like mutual respect I love. ”

“Walking a farm with children and dogs and family,” he said at the time. “Every stop, you get off the trees or shrubs, get out of the ground and feed as long as you move through the farm.”

While they are raising their daughter, Bodhi and their one-year-old son, the couple enjoys growing plants, including rosemary and lavender, and care for more animals like cows, mini-doves and goats.

“There’s a lot of work,” Somerhalder added. “It’s amazing when you see these amazing forms of creature life … and as everyone lives on a farm is really special together.”

“We are agricultural people, we produce most of our own food, I live in my cowboy boots,” he said.

Ever since Somerhalder left the acting industry just over five years ago, he has focused his focus on his Bourbon company, Brat’s Bond, which he owns with his “Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley. The actors started their brand in 2021.

Somerhalder attended Fred’s Minnick New Orleans Bourbon festival before Superbowl Lix. The actor told Fox News Digital that Minnick gave him “so much lifting” under the wing in the Burbon industry.

“I think, although there are a lot of winds in the species, you know, food and drinking industry or alcohol. And so powerful that I think that when together we draw this country through the soil and food and through drinks and community, we just win in every form and form on the side of the economy, on the side of the community.

“And all this comes from whiskey and food, is it? So, as this economy is growing, our educational systems improve, our water systems are getting better,” Somerhalder continued. “You know, after school programs get better, recreational centers get better. So, that’s how we will build America. And that’s really powerful. This is not like a political statement. This is about people and Americans and whiskey. This is what I am real excited.
