The Panaman Channel is one of several territories that US President Donald Trump says he wants to take control of the United States, due to concern about the influence of China on the navigable path. What worries now is a company based in Hong Kong, which manages two ports of the entrance. Back in 2017, Chinese President XI Jinping integrated the channel into its initiative of the belt and road. But under the pressure of the US, the Panama government has now given up on that project. The canal is found in the fight between the two major world forces.
