The jurors heard three weeks of testimony that chronicled a bitter fall from a childhood friend and the struggle that led to the rapper, whose real name Rakima Mayers, accused of charges of opening fire in the middle of Holivudska Street.
A jury of 12 members liberated him, allowing the rapper to go freely with singer Rihanna, who was sitting behind him while the verdict was read.
Here are five great things we learned while they were in the courtroom.
1- unwavering support from Rihanna
As The verdict is not to blame She was read in court, the rapper immediately jumped off the defense table and skipped the wooden barrier to hug Rihanna, who was sitting behind him between his mother and sister.
The couple hugged firmly, they both made their way as the courtrooms broke out.
Rihanna, an artist award -winning Grammy, was in court for several days during the trial, including Valentine’s Day.
One day, she brought two young children in court, who were both dressed in suits with packages in her mouth. You could hear them cooling in the courtroom as they overturned through the children’s books.
Joe Tacopina, a rapper defender, said Mr. Mayers tried to protect Rihanna and their family from a criminal proceedings, but said that “wild horses could not keep her away” from the trial.
Although she was often stoic and stared straight ahead while in court, she never blinked or showed emotions when prosecutors gave negative comments about her partner.
After the acquittal of the verdict, Rihanna expressed gratitude for the social media, stating: “Glory belongs to God and God alone! Grateful, humbled by her mercy!”
2- a $ ap mob breaks up?
A $ AP Mob is a hip-hop collective founded in Harlem in 2006 by a group of high school friends in New York.
They adopted the title “A $ AP”, which means “always striving and progressing.”
The group, which has had more than 20 members over the years, introduced themselves as a family, but were tormented by jealousy, rival and disagreement since the death of its founder, $ Yama.
Although there was a relegation and questions between some members, this is the trial of the most prominent example of a complete dismantling of relations between members.
A $ AP Relli, whose legal name is Terell Ephron, He used to be a close friend and member of the mafia, the accused Mr. Mayers, known as AP Rocky, that he had shot him during the 2021 altercation.
During the trial, his defensive team claimed that Mr. Ephron was outraged with indignation at his former friend, feeling aside as the glory of AP Rocky grew and saw mainstream music success. They claimed that Mr. Ephron was after the money.
Several AP Mob members testified during the trial in favor of Mr Mayers.
AP AP twelvyy caused Mr. Ephron’s account of events and suggested that he was an aggressor during an altercation, not Mr. Mayers.
A $ A Lou also took an attitude, speaking to the jurors that the Glock 43 magazine was found during the search of Mr. Mayers’ house, not to him, not the rapper.
None of the AP AP -AP members publicly testified to Reli.
3- “Awge” still a mystery?
Do you know what AWGE is advocating for? If you know, I think I and the jury would still love to know.
During the trial, Awge appeared when a double ap. Prosecutors asked him about his meaning. But before he could answer, and $ AP Rocky – who was sitting with his lawyers – he came in and shouted, “Don’t say!”
Twelvvy adhered to and replied, “I just know it’s Awge.”
It was a stunning moment. Criminal accused usually do not say much during the trial – let alone stop the witness to answer the question during their criminal trial.
Asked about this exchange after the trial, AP Rocky lawyer Joe Tacopina explained what happened.
He said it was “an acronym for his company that had anything to do with his family. I’ll leave that on it.” Mr. Tacopina continued to explain that this was a private matter that the rapper did not want to publicly discover millions, especially in the case of a criminal court.
But the answer really led to more questions. What does that mean and why is it so secret?
Here’s what we know: Awge was called a mysterious creative collective and a discographic home $ AP Rocky, which has long been the subject of intrigue.
Founded in 2014, the group operates through music, fashion and art, collaborating with brands like Mercedes-Benz and Pacsun. Members include artists, designers and directors and everyone remains loyal to one rule: no one publicly reveals what is actually advocating for “AWGE”.
There are two rules on the company’s website: ” #1 never reveals what AWGE means. #2 when in doubt they always relate to the rule no. 1.”
Fans $ AP Rocky still have several speculations:
- “AP AP Worldwide Global Enterprises” – possible nods wider brand and business ambitions and $ AP.
- “I don’t want to go explicit” – this suggests that Awge is an internal joke or personal mantra in Rocky’s circle.
- “All we have is everything” – a phrase that aligns with Rocky’s philosophy of creativity and collaboration.
- “A $ AP Worldwide Genius Elite” – another theory that Awge frames as a very curious group of artists and visionaries.
Despite its speculation, the rapper and its team have never officially confirmed any meaning.
Instead, they leaned into secret, with members often answered questions about Awge with a phrase: “If you know, you know.”
4- height of fame $ ap rocky
The trial of $ AP Rocky took place at the center of his career, and the rapper was driving a wave of creative and commercial success.
The rapper was supposed to release its first solo album in almost a decade, and is scheduled for Los Angeles Rolling Loud Festival in March 2025.
In addition, she acts in a summer blockbuster with Denzel Washington. The upcoming film director Spike Lee “highest 2 lowest” is scheduled for a summer edition.
But his influence stretches out of music-his collective Awge collaborated with brands like Mercedes-Benz and Puma. And he was celebrated for his fashion sense, and is known as one of the men who are best dressed in music.
In May, he needed a co -assembled Met Gala 2025 – one of the biggest fashion nights – along with big names like Anna Wintour, driver of British racing car Lewis Hamilton, singer Pharrell Williams and LeBron James’ basketball superstars.
His relationship with Rihann, one of the most famous singers, further strengthened his cultural relevance.
The couple welcomed their second child, Riot Rose, in August 2023, and their growing family became a symbol of hip-hop fees.
5- beef between lawyers
The trial was not just a battlefield for the freedom of the rapper – it also saw intense conflicts between legal teams.
The defender of the famous Joe Tacopina, known for his aggressive style of the courtroom, mercilessly challenged the credibility of the key witness of the Prosecutor’s Office, $ AP Relli, whose legal name is Terell Ephron.
He painted Mr. Ephron as an opportunist seeking financial profit and called the Prosecutor’s Office to flutter for a lack of physical evidence. Mr. Ephron was so annoying to the rapper’s lawyer during the interrogation that Mr. Tacopina called “boring”.
In the meantime, the prosecutors pushed themselves, accusing Mr. Tacopin of trying to intimidate the witnesses and release key testimonies.
Both sides were very liberal with the use of complaints in court, and sometimes it felt like both sides were trying to throw another out of their game instead of based on legal guidelines.
Personally, it became personal between the two sides.
At one point during the final arguments, Mr. Tacopina and Prosecutor John Lewin traded on inconsistent behavior, and Mr. Lewin accused Mr. Tacopin of using steroids, and Mr. Tacopina shot back by calling Lewina “Hunchback”.
After a short break, the judge tried to facilitate the mood of theatrically, introducing lawyers like boxers before continuing the trial.
