Spurs’s Gregg Popovich did not expect to come back this season while recovering from a stroke: a report

“This must have been an unexpected six weeks for my family and me,” Popovich said in December. “While working together on my recovery, I want to use the moment to share that the pouring of the support we received during that time is really the best possible way.

“Although I wish I could come back to each of you, for now, I say that my family and I are forever grateful. We are grateful for our wonderful community, the whole organization of Spurs and our family and friends.”
