Spurs’s Gregg Popovich did not expect to come back this season while recovering from a stroke: a report
San Antonio Spurs The head coach Gregg Popovich had a “mild stroke” in November, he has not been training since then, and he is reportedly not expected to return to the bench this season.

“This must have been an unexpected six weeks for my family and me,” Popovich said in December. “While working together on my recovery, I want to use the moment to share that the pouring of the support we received during that time is really the best possible way.
“Although I wish I could come back to each of you, for now, I say that my family and I are forever grateful. We are grateful for our wonderful community, the whole organization of Spurs and our family and friends.”

At that time, Popvich did not turn off his return by speaking in the cheek: “No one is excited to see me returning to a bench from talented individuals who conducted my rehabilitation process. They quickly learned the less coach.”
