“There are not many players who have received that resume. They will be great for them – it is a shame that we didn’t get it!”

Although Tom Burgess decided against playing under his older brother, he is proud of what he has achieved in the first year as the main coach and knows that Huddersfield will have a difficult task when they take them on Sunday on Sunday.

“He did it as a player. He has always been a man’s leader, so it was no surprise to see him so well (in his first year as the main coach).

“They improved them massively and they will just move on.

“I’m really proud of him. This was his path and he now achieved it.”

Warrington Wolves and Huddersfield Giants go on Sunday 16 February, which is live on Sky Sports from 15:00.
