Roma, Sociedad, Fenerbahce and Ajax all fighting
Eight remaining places were filled on the eve of the Europa League last 16.
Eight other legs took place during Thursday night, and some of the competition favorites were thrown out on the first stage.
In key battles across the continent, Galatasaray wanted to return from a heavy deficit against the Dutch side of AZ Alkmaar.
Roma struggled that their advantage in the house had Porto.
And Ajax simply needed to see his match at home to make progress.

Galatasaray and Az Alkmaar played an exciting 2-2 draw in Turkey, but the Dutch side progressed pleasantly on the aggregate.
Visitors took the lead in the first half through Seiya Maikum, though with a huge cross of happiness. The AZ striker was resolved inside the frame, but the ball bounced off his feet and broke past a helpless goalkeeper.

Roma secured its place in the Europa League last 16 by winning 3-2 over Porto at Stadio Olimpico, sealing 4-3 aggregate victory.
Paulo Dybala was the star of the night, he twice achieved to inspire his side next to the poor Porto, who ended the match with 10 men.
The match started by making both teams felt cautiously, but Porto first hit in the 27th minute.
He produced the moment of magic alone, performing an amazing shot that flew into the upper corner to give visitors the lead. However, their advantage was short -lived, because Dybala replied only eight minutes later.
Greatly combining with Eldor Shomurodov, the Argentine applied a skillful ending with the outside of the boot to equalize the result. Four minutes later, Dybala hit again, weaving next to the defender before missing Diogo Costa near the post to put Roma in front of halftime.
Porto’s hopes will be back in the 51st minute when Stephen Eustaquio received a straight red card for violent pressure on Leandro Paredes.
Roma took advantage of her numerical advantage, dominating possession and creating a few chances. Niccolo Pisilli sealed the victory in the 83rd minute with the end of the end. Ajax secured a difficult victory over Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, winning 3-2 on the aggregate after a dramatic 120 minutes in Amsterdam.
USG, constantly from the first leg, produced an amazing performance of the first half to straighten the tie.
Kevin Mac Allister opened scorings in the 16th minute with a well-placed head, before the promise David turned the penalty into the 27th minute after Davy Klaassen’s red card for handball on goal-line.
The Belgian side dominated the possession, but Ajax held to take the game at an extra time.
USG continued to push forward, but failed to take advantage of several promising opportunities, and Ajax’s Remko Pasveer achieved key savings to keep his side in the game.
The decisive moment came in the 93rd minute of additional time when Kenneth Taylor had a cold sentence after Burgess was punished for handball, renewing Ajax’s total lead.
USG launched a ruthless late attack, and Pasveer made a great savings and veterans at the last second to clean up to clean the effort from the line at a time of stop.

Fenerbahce secured its place in the last 16 Europa League with 2-2 against Anderlecht, sealing a 5-2 aggregate victory.
The Turkish side hit first only five minutes, using a defensive error from Lucas Hey. Edin Dzeko intercepted a weak passage before selflessly hit the Youssef En-Nesyri ball to end up in an empty net.
The goal just finished Anderlecht’s hope of a wonderful return. The match was briefly stopped because of the problem with the crowd, but the game continued with a Belgian color that persecuted the game.
Anderlecht found a life line in the 19th minute when goalkeeper Fenerbahce Ergugrul Taşkıran scored a clearance, allowing Luis Vazquez to bounce and equalize.
The home side carried her momentum in the second half, and in the 55th minute of the smart game Thorgan’s Hazardi scored Vazquez for her second goal, and briefly ruled Anderlecht’s hopes.
However, Fenerbahce remained assembled and caused a decisive shot in the 63rd minute. The head of Milan Sirriniar from the corner, Yusuf Akcicek nodded home to restore the parity and effectively kill the tie.
