Parma appoints former chivu veteran for manager
Parma named the former Ajax, Roma and Inter Center Cristiano Chivua to their new manager.
Former Romanian internationally, 44, replaces Fabio Pecchia, who has been the main since 2022 and brought Parma to promotion from Serie B late last season.

Chiva had previously trained teams for young people at Inter Milan, a club where he finished his playing career, between 2018 and 2024.
Parma split with Pecchia on Monday after the fourth consecutive defeat held a club in the relegation zone.
“Chiva, along with his staff who made up Antonio Gagliardi (Assistant Manager), Angelo Palombo (Technical Assistant) and Nicola Pavarini (goalkeeper coach), will start training with a team from today in the Mutti training center,” Parma said in statement.
Chivu’s first game will be in charge of a home game against Bologna on Sunday. Parma is 18 in series A 20 points after 25 games, but only one point is Empoli in 17th place, out of the outburst.
