Monaco Grand Prix: F1 reveals plans to spend additional views for ‘Better Race’ in Monte Carlo | F1 news
Formula 1 has discovered plans to increase the number of mandatory stops of pits on the Grand Prix of Monaco on offer for “better races”.
The lack of overtaking at the most famous F1 race has led to mostly processions of the procession in recent years due to the narrow nature of the circle and larger cars.
The Grand Prix from Monaco 2024 saw the first 10 starts and ending in the same positions, with a red flag in the introductory circle that pulled out any strategic element.
Since 2010, the F1 rules have stated that at least two dry tires have to be used in the Grand Prix if the conditions are dry, so each driver must complete the stop stop, unless there is a red flag that allows you to change the tire.
The F1 and Monaco Grand Prix agreed last year a new contract that will see an event in the calendar until at least 2031.
“With the aim of promoting better races on the Grand Prix from Monaco, the Commission discussed the proposals for the Monaco specific regulations,” read the FIA statement after the F1 Commission meeting at the Formula 1 Commission in London on the eve of Tuesday evening F1 75 initiation of events in O2 Arena.
“The Commission agreed to increase the number of mandatory stops of the Cave in the race. Those proposals will continue to discuss the sports counseling committee in the coming weeks.”
What else was decided in the F1 Commission?
The F1 and FIA also confirmed new departures on the front wings, after controversy on teams that exploited the flexibility of the wings last year.
New front wings tests will be introduced by the Spanish Grand Prix onwards, the ninth race of the year in early June, with new tests on the rear wings starting with the Australian Prix that opens the season.
There is no longer any restrictions on the number of gearboxes that can be used and clarifications have been performed on the beginning of the beginnings, after Lando Norris and George Russell withdrew from the network at last year’s Grand Prix Sao Paulo, when the “Break Start” message appeared.
