The Karriss Artringstall is unwavering that her conflict with Raven Chapman should be for the new British Peroj Category Championship.
Armingstall’s Olympic Bronze Medal fights the world title Chapman Chapman on Natasha Jonas Vs Lauren Price Undercard 7. March at the Royal Hall of Albert, live on Sky Sports.
The British Boxing Committee for Control presented its women’s championship only for the first time in 2023 when Lauren Price beat Karstie Bavington for the inaugural title in Welterweight.
Armingstall believes her fight with Chapman on March 7th is worth a British title. “How can’t it be?” she said Sky Sports.
“These are the struggles that need to happen. Not 1 and not 2 in Britain.”
Promotor Artringstall Ben Shalu may ask that the fight to be sanctioned for the British title, and he said Sky Sports That he expected that belt to get on the line to fight Artringstall-Chapman.
“I believe that,” Shalom said.
“[It’s] probably close enough to fight at the world level, “he added.” Raven came out of the fight [WBC champion] Skye Nicolson, Karriss obviously has a victory over Skye in amateurs at the Olympic Games.
“For her to come back and say that this fight in this notice, wanting to enter straight, deserves a huge merit. It is a great struggle.
“I think it gives Karrisu the opportunity to somehow skip everything in the division on that world scene.
“Karriss can show why she was the one who watched in the division and put on an explosive performance. I expect her to.
Artingstall, who also hop and beat Chapman as an amateur, wants his mark on professionals.
“It’s easy to get back to the mix. I asked for this fight. It’s delivered. I’m happy to be here now. It’s a fight and a name I need to bring me back to the mix with the top of the girl and potentially knock on the door for the world titles.
“I suppose it’s before everyone expected, which is a good thing.
“What other fight would make sense on such an amazing card?”
Artingstall added: “We had little history there. We boxed each other. We were together in Team GB together, we shared circles. We know each other pretty well. It’s a good fight and that’s one people have asked.
“I’ll put a job at the gym and I’ll be ready to go. Obviously I believe I’m winning in the fight. As I said I set my sights the best in the weight division and plan to be there.
“She just got off the back of the loss, straight into a decent fight. There’s no point in messing around. We don’t get younger, we both want to be at the top of our game and at the height of sports. So this is a fight that should have happened.”
