“I’ve never competed on Jamaica before”


Gabby Thomas had an incredible year of 2024, winning three Olympic gold medals. Now, while preparing for the new season, the American has made a surprising revelation as she talked about Grand Slam’s Michael Johnson.

Johnson, who was largely considered one of the greatest sprinter of all time, launched the GST, a unique trail league last year. There will be four meetings in the league, and the first competition was held in Kingston, Jamaica, followed by meetings in Los Angeles, Miami and Philadelphia.

Gabby Thomas Signed with a Grand Slam track late last year, and recently ranked the league locations. In an Instagram video, she revealed that she was the most excited to compete in Jamaica because she had never been racing before.

“I’m most excited about Kingston. I’m really excited. I’ve never competed at Jamaica before. “

Then she continued to rank the remaining three locations, saying:

“(Second) Miami, because I love Miami. (Then) Philly, because I love Franklin Field, it’s close to me and dear, I ran in college there, and then we have La. La is cool.”

Gabby Thomas signed with the Grand Slam path Michael Johnson in November 2024 ..

“I’m so excited to join the Grand Slam Track Partnership with Michael Johnson to give our sport a platform it deserves. Going out of the Olympic Games, I want to continue to test myself and compete at the highest level against the fastest women in the world. The Grand Slam Track allows us that opportunity at 2025.”

Thomas praised Johnson’s vision by saying:

“Michael’s vision is incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait to give millions of tracks fans to give even more chances we are watching us competing. I look forward to seeing all our fans in four straws next year.”

Thomas is likely to compete in the Short Sprints event in the GST, which will have races of 100 Mi 200m. Out of Gabby Thomas, other stars that signed with the Grand Slam path include Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone,, Fred KerleyKenny Bednarek, Cole Hocker and more.

The first meeting of the Grand Slam track was held between April 4 and 6 at the Kingston National Stadium, Jamaica. The event will be transmitted live on Peacock, and broadcasting is available on CW.
