Hamas to hand bodies 4 hostages back to Israel
Hamas fighters were expected to hand over the bodies of four Israelites on Thursday, who were abducted during an attack on Hamas on October 7, 2023, including a woman and her two young children, in exchange for Palestine in Israel prison.
Large crowds gathered in the southern city of Gazana Khan Younis to watch an exchange of in the middle of triumphant music. Palestinian armed people are arranged around the stage where four coffins are set.
Miles away, the Israelites watched in horror. The four dead hostages were named as Shiri Bibas, 32, and her red -haired young children Ariel, 4 and Kfir, nine months old, as well as Oded Lifshitz, 84.
All four were abducted during the October 7 attacks, which killed approximately 1,200 people and 250 took hostages, according to Israel. For many Israelites, deliberately abducts Mrs. Bibas and her children abolished the viciousness of the attacker.
It was not immediately clear how they died, although Hamas said they were killed in Israeli air attacks. Israeli officials have yet to confirm the cause of death.
The Israeli relentless campaign against Hamas in Gaza quickly followed, killing tens of thousands of Palestinians and leaving most of the enclave in the ruins.
At the end of January, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on stopping fighting for at least six weeks. Hamas agreed to reverse the 25 living Israeli hostages and the body of eight others in exchange for more than 1,500 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
Since then, the Israelis and Palestinians have witnessed emotional home people – hostages that reunite with their families after a terrifying year in the Hamas underground tunnel network – since the return of Palestinian prisoners accepted their loved ones outside prison for the first time in decades.
Hamas used hostage editions to maintain complex ceremonies showing his dominance in Gaza, arranging dozens of well -organized armed attackers and occasionally forcing hostage to be released from improvised stages.
