Reynolds admitted that this is “a sensitive question for some of which have heard disinformation about what this account is doing. The truth is that it simply adopts Iowa in accordance with the Federal Civil Rights Act, as well as in most countries.”
She added that every Iowan, “without exception, deserves respect and dignity. We are all the children of God and no law changes that.”
Trump hinted at his approval of the law on Thursday, shortly before he was signed.

The Iowa Democratic State, Ambassador Aime Wichtendahl, who identifies himself as a transgender woman, said: “The purpose of this law and the purpose of every anti-Trans law is to further delete us from public life and stigmatize our existence. The sums of every anti-Trans and Anti-LGBTQ Law on our illegal.”
The protesters also filled Rotund on Thursday, holding inscriptions such as “Trans Rights are human rights” and shouting, “There is no hatred in our country!”

Keenan Crow, who directs politics and advocacy for the LGBTQ advocacy group One Iowa, said Associated Press that the group will take any legal procedure “available”, adding that they are still trying to understand how the law will be enforced.
All Democrats in the State House and Senate voted against the bill, and were joined by five Republicans.
The law enters into force on July 1.
