Germany: AFD set up for a record gain while CDU is fighting for a majority

The vote is ongoing in what many call German the most important elections in decades. The Snap election launched a collapse of the three -way coalition led by the Social Democratic Party of Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Friedrich Merz, leader of Christian Democrats, appears on the way to becoming a tenth chancellor in the country. The extreme right AFD is expected to secure the second place in the election.
