The Democratic MP said in an interview on Monday that their children would not be lunch and that they would be in classrooms that do not have teachers if President Donald Trump and Elon Musk Ministry of Government Efficiency get the way.
“It’s a word that has to go out … Your child can be in a classroom who has no teacher,” said Rev. Rosa Delauro, D-Conn.
Trump, who was in a campaign for removal of the Ministry of Education during the 2024 presidential elections, enrolled in assistance Elon muskfounder and executive director of Spacex -Ai Tesla Inc, to review the effectiveness of the Agency. Trump is expected to issue an executive command that requires the removal of the department.
On Friday, democratic legislators surrounded the Ministry of Education, protesting against Trump’s administration for “lack of transparency”, but they were denied entry into security.

During the CNN interview, Delauro said students would not be able to dine at school under Trump.
“The second part of this is the anger of the American public,” Delauro said. “And when … think about legal question, but you have to think about what, you know, what are the consequences of American families. You take education, you look at the denying people in school lunches.”
She also said that students with special needs would suffer and that Congress would fight to stop Trump’s administration.

“The Congress will not allow it to succeed,” Delauro said. “And the courts are important … Although we have no lawsuit, we work with the organizations that bring the suit.”
