David Marcus: Why some Texas say the ice attack on Colony Ridge is a good start

The small town of Cleveland, TexasOnly 30 miles are northeast of Houston, but it feels a million kilometers from anywhere, which could explain why some builders and politicians thought they could escape by creating Ridge Colony, the development of 60 square kilometers is full of illegal immigrants, cartels and crime.
The Texas Governor announces the suppression of a huge illegal immigrant community near the capital
Over the years, predatory loans have attracted many illegal immigrants to the area, perhaps double the locals and stressing local resources at a turning point. But on Monday, both federal and state law enforcement, under the command of the border Emperor Tom Homan, Raided Colony RidgeBy arresting 118 people, some of whom were violent who repeated criminals, sent shock waves and some hopes through the community.
Columnist David Marcus, in a red shirt, with Cleveland, Texas, Jason, George Cuellar and Tyler.
George Cuellar is a co -owner of the Bar & Grill Wagon wheel, and in Cleveland he lived most of his 53 years. He watched in horror as the settlement appeared.
“The Ridge colony never made sense,” he told me about thousands of cheap houses set up in the last seven years. “There is no industry or nothing. Nothing can do these people. It just makes powerful people rich.”
When I asked him where the community first began to notice the problem, he told me they were schools. The huge appearance of new students, many who do not speak English, have taken a tax toll on the community.
It was creepy similar to what I heard last fall in Springfield, Ohio, who is famously dealt with by a similar attack by migrants.
Sponsors at George Cuellar’s Wongon Wheel Bar & Grill in Cleveland, Texas, say that illegal immigrants have changed the character of the community.
Cuellar is not without compassion. Forty years ago, he studied English in a school system in Cleveland. “I learned quickly, I had to learn to talk to the girls,” he told me.
Travis and Jason received some wagon wheels and added that the next major warning sign was a significant increase in crime. “There was never that way,” they told me. “We now have murders once a week, it seems.”
In fact, on Monday, in the middle of the Homeland Security Ratches, a fatal stitch took place in Plum Grow’s compartment, unfortunately, unfortunately, all too many usual phenomena of these days.
Cuellar made me contact with Maria Acevedo, an activist who helped Daily wire reporter Break this story back in 2023. She obviously told me that they were: “Everyone is a victim here, including illegal immigrants.”
Acevedo, who is Latin American herself, has dealt with racism accusations when she began to emphasize problems at Colony Ridge. But now, he tells me, these problems have become so obvious that these accusations have just disappeared.
As for the raid on Monday, the locals I spoke with expressed cautious optimism. They were glad to see, but “118 people will not solve the problem,” Cuellar told me. Acevedo agreed, adding that she hoped it wasn’t just for the show.
In places like Cleveland, Texas and Springfield, Ohio, we see a real salary of the catastrophic immigration policy of former President Biden. Of course, the crowded Hotel Roosevelt in New York, a city of 9 million, is a problem, but the doublement of the city’s 8,000 souls with illegal immigrants is a crisis.

The problem in places like Cleveland and Springfield is that it does a little effort to integrate the influx of contributing to cities. Cuellar would usually be delighted with the enlargement of the population, but none of the migrants comes to his restaurant or does not participate in the life of the city at all. And in a small town that is a huge job, these are places where everyone greets each other.
When Tyler moved here from New Jersey to take care of his mom, he planned to sleep in the tent until he reached his feet, but then met Jason, who had room for him. This is how these communities work, but unlike Tyler, most illegal never become part of that community here.

Colony Ridge, Springfield, Ohio and Aurora, Colorado, are just small cities we heard of running the punished influence of mass illegal immigration. It is probably impossible to know how many areas suffer in a similar way.
On Monday, the first step for Cleveland residents was welcomed, but here, and and throughout America, it takes a lot of work to close, not only to close the border, but also realize how to deal with millions of illegal migrants who are already here.
