Each era has its own bite, gurus, clips and fraud. This is an American tradition, from the sellers of the snake oil to the pyramids to the new prophets of the 20th century. It could be tempted to reject them as ethically compromised men, muffling gullible for personal benefit, but they are more than that: symbols of hope and anxiety of every generation.
Examples of last decade, who sold us on The theory of a critical race, Transgere medicine and other madness are no different. Some Americans wanted to get rid of guilt for race and sexuality and are released from the shackles of history and biology. The insured observers could warn them about the inability of this company, but the gurus had a seemingly unstoppable momentum for a time.
The most significant was Professor of the University of Boston Ibram X. Kendi. After the death of George Floyd in 2020, Kendi became an American guru of the race, selling books, gave speeches, teaching corporations, advising politicians, and everywhere he preached a new gospel on “AntiraCism”. His key idea was that the institutions had to practice “anti -opracy discrimination” in favor of blacks and other minorities to compensate for past “racist discrimination”. His ideology was a rudimentary theory of a critical race, his agenda Rudimentary Dei.
The printing Kendi announced as a genius, scholars and moral voice Era of black life. In 2021, the New York Times was particularly light, published uncritical cards like “Ibram X. Kendi loves to read before bed”, an article about his reading habits. “You are headed by a recent wave of a author who fight racism through active, lasting anti -opracy,” Times said. “Do you count any book as comfort or guilt?”
Kendi brought it. The professor signed a lucrative Netflix contract and switched to design clothes. He secured $ 55 million for his “Anti -Riccist Research Center” at the University of Boston, which promised to engage in scholarship and activism.
It all ended in the accident. While the country came out of Mania caused by BLM, journalists began to critically throw Kendi and his work. The conservative press circulated shameful clips, including one in which Kendi could not define the word “racism” without distributing circular logic. Until 2024, New York Times, no longer interested in his night reading routine, exposed Professor’s shallow ideology and asked questions about his leadership at the Research Center.

The reality was uncomfortable with Keny’s cheerleaders. Smarter critics, pushed aside during the BLM era, knew that he was light. The Center for AntiraCistical Research has created almost no research, despite millions of financing and dozens of permanent staff. When Kendi faced the evidence, he pulled out in the signature of the signature, guilt“[r]Acistic ideas “for negative coverage.
The black radicalism market has long existed in America. Kendi was never a creative exponent of that thought, no matter what. Considering more significant figures such as web Dubois, Malcolm X, James Baldwin or even Angela Davis, Kendi seems shallow. His stories and picture books – “AntiraCist Baby”, “Good Night Racism” – would be embarrassed by even middle intellectuals. His books “Adults” are just slightly less strayed.
Press announced Kendi as a genius, scholars and moral voice of the Matthew Black Lives Matter. In 2021, the New York Times was particularly light, published uncritical cards like “Ibram X. Kendi loves to read before bed”, an article about his reading habits.
The problem, however, is not kendi, but a wider, mostly white progressive left left, which, after the death of George Floyd, desperately to find someone who would teach them about “system racism” and instructed them how to “do a” job “of healing themselves. They. were frantically searched by the catalog of black academics and, through an unknown combination of bad happiness and human mistake, chose Kendi, a professor with a quiet excuse, as their racism that whispered.

In this regard, white “anti -opracy” set kendi for failure. He was not able to lead the nation through a “racial calculation” or manage a charity donation of $ 50 million. When that reality became undeniable and Kendi became responsible, the progressive machine loosened it.
At the end of January, the University of Boston announced that Kendi would decamp at the University of Howard and that his anti -Riccist research center would be closed – the proverbial house of tickets collapsed. Kendi will no doubt find a receptive audience with Howard, but will no longer enjoy the unskilled worship of American institutions in prestigious prestigious or to lead the “privileged walks” on the Corporate withdrawal of Fortune 100. Over time, it will be considered another American guru that is not managed to deliver – a symbol of angry, destructive passions of Blm era.
