Champions Trophy 2025: Key Details, Qualification Procedure and Spare Days for knockout games
Long -awaited Champion trophy 2025 must start on February 19, with the hosts Pakistan turned New Zealand In the opening of the tournament in Karachi. The event will end with the finals of March 9, gathering top teams in the battle for the superiority.
How are the selected teams?
A total of eight teams will compete in the 2025 champion trophy. As a host nation, Pakistan has secured an automatic qualification. The remaining seven teams were determined on the basis of their ODA 2023 World Cup order. Unfortunately, Sri Lanka AND The Netherlands, who finished ninth and tenth in the tournament, failed to qualify.
Spare days for knockout matches?
In order to ensure fair competition, both semi -finals and finals will have a spare day. However, all efforts will be invested to end the match on their original scheduled dates. If the game is disturbed due to weather or any other reason, it will continue from the same point on a spare day.

DLS rules for knockout games
The key change for the knockout matches is that a team that deals with another must play at least 25 additions for the DLS method to determine the result. This is different from the group stage, where the minimum addition is required for result 20.
What happens in the event of rinsing?
If the semifinals end up without results due to bad weather, a team that finished higher in the group stage will go to the finals. In the finals, if the match is completely rinsed, the trophy will be divided between two finalists.
