The natural phenomenon occurs when the magnetic field of the earth is disturbed by the solar wind, the current of the charged particles that the sun has released.
In this recording of January 2025. The city lights are visible on Earth below such as ISS orbit over the Canadian landscape. The space station then reaches the sunrise of 259 miles (417 km) above the Atlantic.
