3 American women found dead in Beach Resort in Belize


Three American women were found dead during a weekend at a beach in Belize, police said on Monday, and officials investigated death as a possible drug overdose.

Belize police have identified women as 23-year-old Kautar Naqqad, a 24-year-old imana Mallah and 26-year-old Wafae El-Arar, who stayed at Royal Kahal Beach’s resort. They did not publish additional details.

The city of Revere, Massachusetts, said in a post on social media that three women were locals.

“The city of Revere expresses our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the three local women who tragically and unexpectedly died in Belize,” said the city of UA Facebook post.

The residential staff at the resort tried to contact women on Friday after they showed them to enter their rooms on Thursday night and do not go out, police said in a statement. After the staff did not get an answer on Saturday morning, they used the main key to entering, and women were found motionless.

The cause of their death remained unconfirmed. The first answers said women were found with freckles on their mouths, suggesting a possible drug overdose.

Police reported that no signs of forced intake or visible injuries, and officers found snacks, fluids, cry and other electronic devices in the women’s room.

The Royal Kahal is a luxurious resort on the beach on Amberris Caye, located in the city of San Pedro, in Belize, according to him website.

Police said they were still investigating.
