Venezuelan opposition leader Urrutia is seeking recognition by the military as commander-in-chief

Venezuelan opposition leader Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, who is recognized by the US and several countries as the newly elected president, called on the military on Sunday to recognize him as commander-in-chief. The appeal comes amid his international campaign to challenge the authority of President Nicolas Maduro, following disputed election results and the upcoming presidential inauguration on January 10.
