UFC star Conor McGregor is facing a lawsuit over an alleged sexual assault during a 2023 NBA Finals game.
UFC star Conor McGregor was sued Tuesday over sexual assault allegations stemming from a bathroom incident at the Kaseya Center during the Miami Heat’s 2023 NBA Finals game.
The woman, described as a 49-year-old senior vice president at a Wall Street financial firm, claims that McGregor he attacked her in a bathroom in Miami during Game 4 of the NBA Finals on June 9, 2023.

Her attorney, James Dunn, filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida.
“My client has thought long and hard about the decision to bring this civil action and fears the impact it could have on her business on Wall Street,” Dunn said. “Regardless, her main goal in filing this lawsuit is to raise awareness and encourage others to report sexual assault.”
Prosecutors said in October 2023 that McGregor would not face criminal charges over the alleged incident.
Barbara Llanes, McGregor’s attorney, announced the new lawsuit in a statement to Irish Legal News.
“After a thorough investigation at the time, the state attorney’s office concluded that there was no case to pursue,” she said. “Nearly two years and at least three lawyers later, the prosecutor has a new bogus story. We are confident this case will be dismissed as well.”
The lawsuit alleges that arena staff and security had “actual knowledge of the illegal conduct” and failed to adequately protect her. The lawsuit also accuses staff of overserving McGregor despite having “chargeable knowledge of the increased risk of battery.”
McGregor was at the match to promote pain relief products. He punched the Heat’s mascot, Burnie, and tried to “splash” him as he was being carried off the court.
The woman claimed that she was taken to the men’s toilet by a member of McGregor’s entourage and that the attack took place.
