Tyreek Hill’s agent gives big update after WR’s $90,000,000 trade

Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill, has shot down trade speculation surrounding his client. The revelation comes days after Hill’s controversial departure during the season-ending loss to the New York Jets.

Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, sparked trade rumors after pulling out of Sunday’s game. His actions followed a frustrating season in which he had a career-low with just 81 catches for 959 yards.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show on January 9, 2025, Rosenhaus revealed previously unknown details about Hill’s commitment to the Dolphins;

“Tyreek Hill broke his wrist in a scrimmage against the Commanders in training camp. He wasn’t going to miss the season and wanted to play. He’s committed to the Miami Dolphins and had a great meeting with Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel,” Rosenhaus said.

The effect of the wrist injury became visible in the Tyreek Hillproduction. His 959 receiving yards marked his lowest output in a full season since his freshman year in Kansas City in 2016. This followed two consecutive 1,700-yard campaigns at Miami.

Agent says Tyreek Hill was emotional

Rosenhaus spoke Hill’s emotional outburst after Sunday’s game, where the receiver said, “I’m going out, bro. It’s been great playing here, but at the end of the day, I’ve got to do what’s best for my career.”

“Tyreek Hill was emotional after the game and the Dolphins guys know he’s a great competitor. We represent thirteen guys on this team and none of them have a complaint against Tyreek,” Rosenhaus emphasized.

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier confirmed that Hill has not requested a trade. Head coach Mike McDaniel met with Hill for an hour to discuss his departure from the game;

“I was very direct with him … that it was not acceptable to leave the game and it would not be tolerated in the future, and he accepted responsibility,” McDaniel said.

The situation reflects mounting pressure on Hill, who signed a three-year, $90 million contract extension before the 2024 season. His contract includes $59 million in guaranteed money and carries significant salary implications — $28.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026.

Adding context to Hill’s struggles, running back Tagovailoa has seen limited action due to concussions and hip injuries. Because of that, the receiver worked with backup running backs Tyler Huntley and Skylar Thompson most of the season.
