Two killed in a knife attack at a Slovakian school
Two people have been killed and one injured after a student carried out a knife attack at a school in eastern Slovakia.
Local police initially said the suspect – an 18-year-old high school student – was on the run and urged people not to approach him.
However, he was arrested not long after. “We assure the public that all necessary measures are being taken to make you feel safe,” police said.
They added that the teenager’s victims were two fellow students and a female teacher.
Slovak media reported that the attack took place in Spisska Stara Vesa, a town of 2,000 near the Polish border, at around 1:00 pm local time (12:00 GMT).
Several emergency medical teams were at the scene of the accident, TA3 television reported.
