Trump says Newsom is ‘to blame’ for ‘apocalyptic’ wildfires
President-elect Donald Trump laid the blame for the “apocalyptic” wildfires raging through Los Angeles County on Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.
“Governor Gavin Newscum has refused to sign a water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excessive rain and snowmelt from the north, to flow daily into many parts of California, including areas currently burning at nearly apocalyptic way,” Trump announced Truth Social late Wednesday morning.
“He wanted to protect an essentially worthless fish called a turtle by giving it less water (it didn’t work!) but he didn’t care about the people of California. Now the ultimate price is being paid. I will demand that This incompetent governor allowed it to FLOW INTO CALIFORNIA He is guilty for all that, there is no water to put out the disaster fire!”
At least four wildfires are currently raging in Los Angeles County, burning through the Pacific Palisades and Sylmar neighborhoods of Los Angeles, as well as near Pasadena. At least 30,000 residents have evacuated the area as posh villas and houses are threatened with destruction or have already been burned.

Newsom declared a state of emergency after the Palisades Fire got big on Tuesday.
“This is a very dangerous storm that creates an extreme fire risk — and we’re not out of the woods. We’re already seeing the destructive effects of this fire in the Pacific Palisades that has grown rapidly in minutes,” Newsom said in a statement. “Our deepest thanks to our skilled firefighters and emergency responders who quickly responded to this dangerous fire. If you are in Southern California, please pay attention to the weather forecast and follow all instructions from emergency officials.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the governor’s office Wednesday morning for a response to Trump’s Truth Social post, but did not immediately hear back.

During the first Trump administration, the former and incoming president frequently put Newsom’s leadership on wildfire prevention under the microscope, including threats to withhold federal funding for annual wildfires.
“There is no reason for these massive, deadly and expensive wildfires in California other than forest management is so bad. Billions of dollars are spent every year, with so many lives lost, all because of serious forest mismanagement. Fix it now, or no more Fed payouts -a!”, Trump announced to Xu in 2018.
Newsom and other Democrats did historically suppressed that forest fire are in the country due to climate change and global warming.

“You don’t know they believe in climate change. You’re taking yourself out of this conversation,” Newsom fired back at Trump in 2019, after the president criticized him again that year for his leadership of the fire.
