Trump promises ‘new chapter’ for America, promises ‘best days are yet to come’ in pre-inauguration video
FIRST ON FOX: President-elect Trump says his second term represents a “new chapter” for America and promises the American people that “the country’s best days are yet to come.”
Trump makes the promise in a video released by his team Monday morning, just hours before he takes the oath of office and is sworn in as the 47th president of the United States.
The video, titled “It All Comes Down to This: Inauguration Day 2025,” charts the president’s journey from leaving office in 2021, an unprecedented FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home, a day in court, to a rally in Butler , Pennsylvania, where he was nearly killed, to the most important moments of the campaign.

“If I give you one message today to hold in your hearts, it’s this: never give up,” Trump says in the video.
Then, the reporter’s voices ponder the “FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence…Deadly force authorized.”
“Nothing worth doing has ever, ever, ever been easy,” Trump says, followed by news clips of his indictment from special prosecutor Jack Smith and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Both Smith v. Trump cases were dismissed. Trump sat through an unprecedented six-week trial in Manhattan on Bragg’s charges, and a jury found him guilty, but the judge handed him a conditional discharge — meaning there was no punishment.
“Throughout your life, you’re going to realize that things aren’t always fair,” Trump says. “You’ll see things happen to you that you don’t deserve.”

The video pans to Trump during his rally with Butler, just moments before he was shot.
Trump, just days before accepting the Republican nomination, survived an assassination attempt at a July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. During the event, Trump displayed a chart that highlighted how illegal immigration has skyrocketed under the Biden-Harris administration. As he turned to face the map, he was struck by a bullet that pierced the top of his right ear from the now-deceased would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump believes the chart saved his life.
“But you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight,” Trump recounts. “Never, never give up. The more people tell you it’s not possible, that it can’t be done, the more determined you should be to prove them wrong.”
Trump says to “treat the word ‘impossible’ as nothing more than motivation.”
“Enjoy the opportunity to be an outsider because outsiders are the ones who change the world,” Trump says, “and they make a real and lasting difference.”

He also says, “The more a broken system tells you that you’re wrong, the more confident you should be that you have to keep pushing forward, you have to keep pushing forward.”
Trump continued his narration, saying, “Never stop fighting for what you believe in and for the people who care about you.”
