New York (Reuters) – a statement by MBBBMlendy of the United Nations.
The Council invited Rwanda and Drc to return to the interviews to achieve peace and resolve questions related to the presence of Rwanda’s defense forces in Eastern Congo and Congo’s support for the democratic forces for release of Rwanda (FDLR).
M23 is advocating for the defense of the interests of Tutsi, especially against ethnic Hutu militia, such as the FDLR, founded by Hutus, who escaped from Rwanda after participating in the Genocide of more than 800,000 Tuts and moderate Hutus from 1994.
At the Council meeting on Sunday, the United States, France and Britain condemned what Ruanda was supported by the M23 Rebel Advance. Kigali has long denied supporting M23.
In its statement, the security council “condemned the constant neglect for sovereignty and territorial integrity of DRC, including the unauthorized presence in the Eastern DC.”
He did not explicitly appoint external forces, but demanded that they be withdrawn immediately.
Acting US Ambassador to UN Dorothy Shea, he particularly invited Rwanda for the use of GPS of stuck and spooting, which also reflected the Council statement.
“Members of the Security Council are also deeply disturbed by GPS teaching phenomena and Spoofing in favor of Operations of M23 in northern Kivu, which are a immediate risk of civil aviation safety and adversely affect humanitarian aid to the population in need,” said the Security Council.
